Karate lessons are held in the Wantage Leisure Centre every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 (for all grades) and 7:30 to 8:00 (for brown and black belts). The address of the leisure centre is Wantage Leisure Centre, Portway, Wantage, Oxon OX12 9BY.

On Sundays we train at the East Challow Village Hall from 6:30 to 7:30 (for all grades) and 7:30 to 8:00 (for brown and black belts).


Stanford in the Vale

Karate lessons are held in the Stanford Community Hall every Wednesday and Friday evening from 6pm to 7pm. The Village Hall is situated near the centre of the village just off Huntersfield, postcode SN7 8LX.

Each lesson costs £6 (this is capped at £12 for a family). Anybody is welcome to just turn up and have a go at any time and we typically split the class after warm up and stretching exercises so that beginners do not feel intimidated. You can also contact the chief instructor (using the contact form below) if you have any questions. The minimum age to start karate is ideally 6 years old, but if you have a child younger than this then please have a chat to the instructor.

If you fancy trying karate …

Just wear some loose fitting clothes that you are comfortable in (a tee shirt and tracksuit is ideal) and bring a bottle of water. If you have any injuries or physical problems then please let the instructor know at the start of the session.
